Our Story
"Constructed in 1990 within the hamlet of Orangeburg, by the Town of Orangetown, and was offered as affordable housing to Orangetown's senior residents. Cortwood Village became a sought-after place to reside. Fast forward 30 years and it's still a place residents strive to get into, due to the appeal of its affordable monthly rent compared to the average rental cost, not just in Orangetown but throughout Rockland County.
In 2019, Capital Improvement projects began, and it included installation of new roofs, gutters, and underground drainage. Walkways and parking lots. New high efficiency boilers were installed in all four buildings, and in all units, windows and exterior doors were replaced.
Cortwood Village is run by town appointed representatives and includes two tenant representatives who live on site. The property is managed by Hellman Management and has an on-site Superintendent who handles all aspects of property maintenance.
